WhatsApp plans to charge business customers for a few of its services the appliance announced on its blog. The announcement comes because the company focuses on further investment within the shopping, customer communication for businesses, and sales features on WhatsApp.
In a statement on their blog WhatsApp said:
The global pandemic has made clear that companies need fast and efficient ways to service their customers and make sales. WhatsApp has become a simple and convenient resource during this point. More than 175 million people a day message a WhatsApp Business account. Our research shows people like better to message a business to urge help and they’re more likely to form a sale once they can do so.
Though there’s far more we’d like to create. For the last two years, we’ve provided the WhatsApp Business app and WhatsApp Business API to assist businesses of all sizes to manage their chats. We’ve listened to feedback on what’s worked and believe WhatsApp can help make messaging the simplest way for consumers and businesses to attach. To that end we are increasing our investment within the following areas:
Shopping
We will expand ways for people to ascertain out available products and make purchases right from an interview. We also want to make it easier for businesses to integrate these features into their existing commerce and customer solutions. This will help many small businesses who are most impacted during this time.
Facebook Hosting Services
Businesses have varying technology needs and need choice within the companies they work with to host and manage customer communications, particularly with remote work increasing. This is why over the approaching months, we decide to expand our partnerships with business solution providers we’ve worked with over the last two years. We will also provide a replacement option for businesses to manage their WhatsApp messages via hosting services that Facebook plans to supply. Providing this feature will make it easier for little and medium-sized businesses to urge started, sell products, keep their inventory up so far, and quickly answer messages they receive – wherever their employees are.
Business Sales
We will charge business customers for a couple of the services we offer, which may help WhatsApp continue building a business of our own while we provide and expand free end-to-end encrypted text, video, and voice calling for quite two billion people.
We know that the majority of people will still use WhatsApp simply to speak with friends and family, which is why we’ll keep developing great new features and protect people’s private conversations.
We believe these additional experiences on WhatsApp meet a true need for several people and businesses whether or not they are round the corner or across the world. We’re excited about what lies ahead and we’ll gradually roll out these services within the months to return.
